Grieg: Four Pieces from Peer Gynt, for String Quartet
|
|
The two suites drawn from Grieg's incidental music for Ibsen's "Peer Gynt" have been symphonic repertory favorites since they were written. This set contains "Morning Mood", "Solveig's Song" and "Anitra's Dance", all famous from the orchestral suites, plus the haunting and little known "Solveig's Lullaby", the final number in the play, which he did not include in either suite.
